In Guaranteed Tournaments the prize pool, or winnings that get awarded to the top players, is secured or guaranteed by the house or poker room. In a nutshell, you know what you are guaranteed to bring in if you play your cards right.
For example a guaranteed 25,000 USD tournament will always have a minimum of 25,000 USD in the prize pool, regardless of the number of entrants. If the buy-in intakes do not cover the pre-announced prizepool, Gnuf.com secures the pot. If more than enough players join the tournament their buy-in will be added on top of the guaranteed amount. 25,000 USD guaranteed just means that there is minimum 25,000 USD to be split between the winners.
