The Crown casino is no stranger to large scale poker events. Ever since poker was introduced here in 1997, it has been the home and battleground to several major poker clashes. The Australian Poker Championship or the Aussie Millions, which started in 2001 is by far the biggest poker tournament in the southern hemisphere, with entrants from all over the world.
During the 2006 tournament the Aussie Millions truly proved itself as a classic gathering of the tribes, with 418 players competing for a slice of the 4,18,000 AUD prize pool. With this year’s $10,000 buy-in, expectations of relentless action and record breaking pots are soaring
Filmed and broadcasted by Fox Sports, the five day main event begins on Sunday 14 January and is expected to generate a prize pool in excess of 6,000,000 AUD.
